iPad. MyPhone. Meego. YouTube. Self-help books. Do-it-yourself kits. Fighting for your rights. Lawsuits over just about any adult-sized kindergarten quabble.
Perhaps one of the biggest marks of this generation is the worship of the Self. Products, services, indeed, all the best marketing strategies focus on personal satisfaction. Yet, are we to succumb to such ideologies?
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20).
The bible tells us otherwise. Anyone who professes faith in Christ no longer cries “I!”, or “Me first!”. We are to live as Christ lived. Our Lord Jesus forefeited many of his rights when he lived among us. If part of his reason was to set an example, how much are we following him? What does your heart cry out?
In this world of iPad, iPhone, and meFirst, how should we be living out our lives?
