SMS 82: Mark 4:38 (July 11, 2013) v2

Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

Most of us have been disappointed with the Lord at one point in our lives; others haven’t recovered and have dismissed his existence or lordship altogether. Yet our Lord is neither comfortably asleep nor powerless. Those who exercised faith saw beyond their earthly existence, and saw the ‘care’ that our Lord gave to all who put their faith in him.

*in this context and usage, the word Lord can refer to God the father and the Lord Jesus interchangeably
